IndiGo Announces Six New Flights, Fares Start At Rs. 1,216

Budget carrier IndiGo on Monday announced six new daily non-stop flights across different domestic routes. The fares for the new flights start from Rs. 1,216 which is applicable for the Srinagar-Amritsar route. IndiGo took to Twitter to announce the six new flights saying: "Introducing more #6Eness :D". The other five routes are Bengaluru-Amritsar (Rs. 3,734), Amritsar-Bengaluru (Rs. 3,945), Amritsar-Srinagar (Rs. 1,445), Mumbai-Mangalore (Rs. 2,243) and Mangalore-Mumbai (Rs. 2,185). The airline currently operates with a fleet of 140 aircraft.

Apart from the new flights, IndiGo is selling tickets at Rs. 1,099 on select one-way flights across its domestic network. While the starting all-inclusive fare of Rs. 1,099 is being offered on flights from Delhi to Jaipur, the airline is offering tickets below Rs. 1,400 on routes including Chennai-Bengaluru, Jammu-Srinagar, Vizag-Hyderabad and Guwahati-Bagdogra, according to IndiGo's website - goindigo.in. The airline has also announced a new service that enables its passengers arriving at airports earlier than their flight schedule to board the earliest flight at Rs. 1,000. Called 'IndiGo Early', the service offered by the airline is applicable to "all passengers travelling on a domestic flight, wanting to prepone their flight (within 4 hours)", it said. Link 

IndiGo clarified that the "service shall not be extended to passengers booked under group fares."

Amid heightened competition in the aviation sector, many airlines time and again offer discounts and attractive fares. 

In June, domestic air passenger traffic rose 19.98 per cent to 95.68 lakh, as compared to 79.75 lakh in June 2016, data from aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation showed.
