12 people washed away at waterfall while taking selfie in India

10 to 12 people were washed away at Shivpuri waterfall in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

The group was enjoining a picnic and were clicking selfies when a huge surge in water level washed them away.

According to India Tv, the water levels increased suddenly at around 4.30pm due to heavy rain upstream. It washed away the 10-12 people who were enjoying their time at the waterfall.

The remaining people climbed on the rocks and were rescued after being stranded for hours.

In a tweet, MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that rescue team is trying to take out the stranded people using helicopters.
