KIM JONG BOOMWill North Korea test another H-bomb TODAY? Experts fear Kim Jong-un’s ‘city-busting’ nuclear weapon could be detonated within hours

NORTH Korea could detonate its "city-busting" nuke today to reignite its deadly feud with the United States, experts have said.

Kim Jong-un's war-hungry regime is keen to display a chilling show-of-force with another H-bomb test — with today being a perfect day to do so.

A submarine missile is paraded across the Kim Il Sung Square to celebrate the 105th birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung, the country's late founder. A nuke test could be carried out today to mark another major anniversary

October 10, which begins at 4:30pm UK time today, marks the anniversary of the founding of the ruling Worker’s Party of Korea.

And trigger-happy Kim will want to test his apocalyptic weapon like "fireworks on holidays", an analyst has told the Daily Star Online.

Security expert Robert A. Manning, from think tank the Atlantic Council, told the website that there is a 50/50 chance of another test being carried out today.

“The war of words with Trump has ratcheted up tensions to dangerous levels", he said.

Fears are growing that Kim Jong-un will soon target the US with a deadly missile strike

"They like fireworks on holidays, and he is in a mad rush to acquire a reliable ICBM [ballistic missile] and a city-busting H-bomb."

The dire warning comes after a top Russian politician predicted Pyongyang was on the verge of testing a missile capable of reaching the United States mainland.

After visiting the deprived North Korean capital, Anton Morozov said the regime "intend to launch one more long-range missile in the near future."

He added that "their mood is rather belligerent", in comments made to RIA news agency.

North Korea says it is capable of launching nuclear warheads on its intercontinental ballistic missiles

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un could wipe out millions within minutes of launching a nuclear strike

"They are preparing for new tests of a long-range missile", Mr Morozov said.

"They even gave us mathematical calculations that they believe prove that their missile can hit the west coast of the United States."

North Korea's most recent nuclear detonation last month triggered an artificial earthquake six times larger than in any previous test.

Leading the international condemnation, US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis vowed to meet any threat to America with "a massive military response".

Kim has been carrying out several missile and nuke tests over recent months

South Korea has also been upping its ballistic missile capabilities in response to North Korea's threats

North Korea has already claimed it has developed a sophisticated 120 kiloton hydrogen bomb small enough to be carried on an intercontinental missile.

And a report last week said Kim Jong-un's growing arsenal has the ability to wreak devastation on neighbours South Korea and Japan as well as sworn enemy the United States.

Four million people could die within minutes of the dictator launching a nuclear strike on Seoul and Tokyo, the shock study by North Korea monitoring group 38 North found.
