Major fire breaks out at warehouse in Salmabad

A major fire broke out at a warehouse that stored inflammable items in Salmabad in the Northern Governorate yesterday. Employees in the building were evacuated but no casualties were reported in the incident.

Civil Defence firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and doused the fire. Twelve vehicles were put to service to douse the fire at the warehouse which belonged to the Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry

 

The Interior Ministry confirmed the incident.

“A large fire was extinguished in a warehouse of inflammable products affiliated with the Works, Municipality Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry in Salmabad,” the Interior Ministry said, quoting General Director  of  Civil Defence.

“The fire was spotted at 12:47pm and the civil defence team reached within 7 minutes. Twelve vehicles and 45 personnel were involved in putting out the fire and prevent the spread of the flames to nearby houses and buildings. Investigation is continuing to know the reason behind the fire,” said General Director of Civil Defence.
