According to Shastri the men led by Kohli have more to show as achievements than the teams from the past.
In 2015, after a gap of 22 years, the Indian cricket team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli had won the Test series in Sri Lanka. The last winning series was in 1993 under the captaincy of Mohammed Azharuddin.
He even added that in 2009 Mahendra Singh Dhoni's men had won a series by 1-0 against New Zealand, while in 2011 they drew by 1-1 against South Africa.
Shastri commented that for Virat Kohli this is a fresh start, and he is not being weighed down by his previous baggage.
