She lost her arm to an accident but 21-year-old Lauren from San Diego, California has proven she hasn’t lost her humor and her wit at all – and she’s quite ready to make people laugh as she makes fun of herself!
Last year, Lauren lost her arm to a moped accident.
She revealed, “I was going pretty fast on a moped and lost control of it, and I hit the median in the road. I flew off and hit a sign and it sliced my arm off. I stayed conscious the whole time.”

A cop who arrived at the scene had just received training on how to apply a tourniquet; this saved her life despite the huge wound that was spurting so much blood.
“I remember I asked the cop, ‘Hey, am I gonna die?’ and he said, ‘No, you’ll be fine,’” Lauren added.
Surviving the injury was one thing but coping with the loss of her arm was another thing. After all, not only did she lose major function due to her missing arm, she does get stares every time she goes out in public.
But Lauren was a strong young woman who didn’t try to hide her injuries. To cope, she began posting a lot of silly jokes about her injury, making fun of herself and making others laugh with her, not at her!
“For a while, I wasn’t okay with the jokes. But then I started telling the jokes, and it’s kind of helped,” the young lady revealed.
Not only did this help her cope with her own injuries, it also helped other amputees deal with their own problems. But even those who have complete limbs find Lauren as an inspiring young lady.
Recently, she made waves on social media after posting a hilarious but clever profile on Tinder.
