You Will Never Buy Bread After Reading These Homemade Bread Recipes

Nowadays, store-bought bread is filled with all kinds of additives which are very toxic and can have a negative influence on the overall health. Therefore, it’s always a safer option to prepare your own bread. However, you need to know few good recipes and to have some tricks up your sleeve that will make your bread tasty. For that purpose, we’ve prepared some of the best bread recipes which are also gluten-free:
 
Basic sandwich bread

You will need:

  • An egg
  • 1 1/3 cups of water
  • ¼ cup of melted butter
  • ¼ cup of sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp of sea salt
  • 4 cups of bread flour
  • 1 ½ tsp of instant yeast or 2 tsp of active dry yeast

Preparation: Mix all of the ingredients until you get a homogeneous mixture. If you mix it by hand, mix all of the ingredients but the flour. You should add it gradually. When the dough becomes stiff, mix it with your hands about 5 to 10 minutes more. Next, cover it and leave it for 20 minutes to rise. Then, divide it into the desired number of buns. In a greased baking pan or pan with baking paper, put the buns and bake them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Basic sourdough bread

 

You will need:

  • 2 1/3 cups of fresh sourdough starter
  • 3 1/3 cups of flour
  • 1 ½ cup of water
  • A tsp of salt

Preparation: Mix all of the ingredients, but the water and knead the dough until it becomes thin enough and light passes through it when it’s stretched between four fingers. Next, shape it into a loaf and leave it to rise in size. Then, reshape it again and put it in a baking pan and bake it for half an hour to one hour at 400 degrees.

Potato bread recipe

You will need:

  • 7 ounces of mashed potatoes
  • 2 ½ tbsp of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of softened butter
  • 3 ½ cups of bread flour
  • A tsp of salt
  • 2 tsp of dry yeast or 1 ½ tsp of SAF instant yeast

Preparation: If you knead the ingredients by hand, add the flour gradually, not at once. Afterwards, leave it to rise for 20 minutes and then punch it down and then let it rise again. Bake it for 40 minutes at 375 degrees.

French bread recipe

You will need:

  • 1 ¼ cup of warm water
  • A tbsp of sugar
  • SAF instant yeast
  • A tsp of sea salt
  • 3 ½ cups of bread flour

For the glaze you will need:

2 tbsp of water

Half a tsp of salt

Preparation: Mix the sugar, yeast, and salt and dissolve them in water. Next, add the flour, cup by cup, until the dough becomes firm. Leave it to rise for 20 minutes and then punch it down and leave it to rise again. Afterwards, put the dough in a greased pan and leave it to rise again. Then, brush it with the glaze and put the pan in the oven. Bake it for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.
