Hiring Indian maids to begin next week – Female domestic workers ban lifted

Following the suspension of female Indian domestic workers for three years, Ministry of Interior has submitted a memo to Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the success of negotiations and meetings held between Domestic Labor Department and officials from the labor office of Indian Embassy in Kuwait, reports Al-Anba daily.

 

During the meeting, the domestic labor law was discussed specifically the rights of domestic workers in terms of salaries, working hours and assurance of their rights in case of infection or death.

A security source indicated the possibility of procedures for hiring female Indian domestic workers to kickoff next week after Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes the necessary actions. He affirmed that the Domestic Labor Department has settled all the suspended matters for bringing Indian domestic workers to Kuwait
