Indian expat assaulted by a Kuwaiti; Case of Filipina maid

A Kuwaiti citizen was arrested for assaulting an Indian expatriate near Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) Hospital and damaging his vehicle, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, the victim filed a case at Ahmadi Police Station, explaining that a Kuwaiti citizen, who was under the influence of liquor, had stopped him near KOC Hospital and asked him for some money, assuring to return the money within 24 hours.

When he refused, the suspect abused him and hit his car before running away.

Case of Filipina maid: Rumors spread on social media about the detention of a Filipina maid in Fahad Al-Ahmad Detention Center are not true, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a security source who affirmed the information published in this regard by a lawyer is inaccurate. The source clarified that as soon as the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received report about a maid who allegedly stole KD6,000 from her sponsor who works at the ministry, a thorough investigation ensued and the investigator ordered putting the maid under police custody during interrogation.

The source disclosed a lawyer from the Philippine Embassy demanded for release of the maid, indicating he will take her to the embassy. The lawyer was informed that his request is illogical because a theft case has been registered against the maid, and then he spread rumors that the maid was assaulted. The securitymen told the lawyer that he has the right to file a complaint, but he refused and threatened to circulate a report about the issue on social media.
