E-Visa system to be officially launched by Royal Oman Police

The e-visa will be launched under the auspices of Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.

The launch will take place during an event held at the Special Police Taskforce Command, in the presence of Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsin Al Shraiqi, the Inspector General of Police and Customs.

Last month, the Royal Oman Police had said that the e-visa system was in its final stages of testing.

An ROP official said: “We have been trying and testing every bit of the e-visa for more than

12 months.

“We are going to introduce it gradually. Once we are sure and have confidence in the security of the system and once the test is confirmed, we will start.

“The fees will be the same and if there is an addition it will be announced earlier.”
