Lease Law in Qatar.

Renting in Qatar:

The main goal of Lease law is to limit the rental price of the property and to maintain the relationship between the tenant and land owner. The Law applies to all the properties including industries, residential and commercial. It doesn't apply to government properties farmlands and tourism places. It doesn't apply to residential units designated for employees of companies operating in Qatar, or employees of the State.

Lease Registration: 

It includes: 

  • Name, Nationality and full address of the land owner and tenant. 
  • Lease Term.
  • Rental Amount.
  • Payment method.
  • Conditions of land owner on the premises.
  • Registration of new lease must be done within 30 days. If not, Penalty applies. 

Rental Dispute:

It has a commitee which has a judge and two members appointed by the minister has rights to resolve all the disputes.

  • The owner of the premises will apply to the commitee to make a tenant to leave the premises when:
  • Tenant fails to pay the rent before the due date.
  • Tenant gives the property to the third party without owner's permission. 
  • Tenant breaks the rules and conditions.
