After Deepika Padukone took all the plaudits with her stunning look from Padmavati, the producers of the historical film have now unveiled Shahid Kapoor’s which has only added to the excitement of the much-anticipated film. Shahid Kapoor plays Deepika Padukone’s husband, Maharawal Ratan Singh, the king of Chittor.

Not to be outdone by Ranveer Singh’s iconic mustache in Bajirao Mastani, Shahid Kapoor sports a heavy beard complete with ornaments which really underline the era in which the movie is set. There is a prominent scar on Shahid’s face which goes to show that there will be epic battles in the movie. Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are playing the lead roles.

Prior to the release of the picture, Shahid spoke about how he had to prepare for this character. He said that to play a king who was as revered as Maharawal, there is a certain personality that the role of a king demands. He added that during the era in which the movie is set, people were not very lead and skinny. He was asked by the director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali to appear muscular and a little full-figured because the Rajput Kings had strong personalities and also to make sure that he could wear the huge outfits.

Deepika Padukone looked stunning in the earlier photos. She also sports a unibrow which has caught the attention of the Twitterati. Deepika plays the role of Rani Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor plays her husband. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Alauddin Khijli.

A number of stars as well as fans have praised the looks of both Deepika and Shahid and now everyone is waiting for Ranveer’s first look in the movie.
