Being a mom of four is no mean feat. Completing over 50 marathons and ultramarathons in the space of a few years is also fairly impressive. Put the two together, and you have some serious #LifeGoals happening.
Last month, Suzy Goodwin, 35, completed the North Carolina Halloween Half Marathon with her 14-month-old triplets in tow, in a stroller that weighed in at around 120 pounds. That’s according to People, who interviewed Suzy about the rationale behind her insanely impressive achievement.
“When you become a parent, [running] is less individual and more something you can share with your kids,” she explained. “Participating in races with the stroller is great because it involves them in community and exposes the entire family to a healthy lifestyle.” Bonus: the trio apparently sleep really well after a stroller run, which should be music to the ears of any new parent.
Suzy’s triplets were born prematurely and spent the first two months of their lives at the Cape Fear Valley Health NICU; now, Suzy is running to raise money for the hospital. Oh, and her half-marathon time of 2 hours, 1 minute, and 19 seconds could get her a Guinness World Record, in the brand-new category of “completing the race with a triple stroller.”
Just a little inspiration to bank for next time you’re trying to coax yourself out for a morning jog.
