Woman Quits Job as Math Teacher, Now Gets Paid to Travel the World and Post Photos of Food

Most of us post about experiences and the things we love on social media, especially photos of food in the restaurants we dine at or tourist spots and hotel accommodations in the places we visit.

A lot are definitely willing to save up so they can enjoy these experiences but there are a lucky few who are actually paid to travel the world and post photos of food on their social media accounts! Who wants this dream job?

Jessica Hirsch is among these lucky few; although she had not dreamed this would ever happen to her life.

As a teenager, Jessica had always thought she would be a teacher like her mother. Indeed, she pursued a degree in education and would become a math teacher for 7 years but her calling as Instagram (IG) star would soon drive this young lady to quit her job.

It hasn’t always been this way, of course. Two and a half years ago, Jessica discovered IG.

“I had always been weirdly the person of my friends who took pictures of their food and was obsessed with where they were going next, and no one really related to me. So when I saw that there was this whole world who did the same thing, I was like, wow, I need to be a part of this,” she revealed to Entrepreneur.

During the first year, she only had about 10,000 followers – and she was already quite pleased with that as all she really wanted was to have an audience for her IG posts. But the number would grow 10x bigger the following year. Today, the IG influencer has over 360k followers on @cheatdayeats plus a growing fan base for her new account, @yourroomservice.

Brands began to take notice of this rising influencer. Soon, she would get deals from no less than established brands like Oreo, Godiva, and Kellogg’s. But her good fortune didn’t just stop with food brands. She would eventually work with the likes of Hyatt Hotel and Hilton Hotels & Resorts as well as Uber and Delta Airlines.

Just this June, she finally quit her job as teacher to focus on her newfound passion as social media influencer – and we could totally see why she made this choice. After all, people pay a lot of money to travel and enjoy good food yet she is the one paid to do all that for these brands! Awesome job, definitely!
