The economies of many countries in the Middle East are heavily reliant on oil exports. Saudi Arabia and the UAE, for example, are large oil-producing nations where petrol prices are relatively low.

 

In contrast, people of some Arab countries face either a situation of ongoing war or are heavily taxed on petrol by their governments which leads to higher oil prices.
