Palestinian cause vital for solution of Middle East issue

The Sultanate of Oman has reaffirms that the Palestinian cause is a pivotal issue and significant for reaching a comprehensive permanent solution of issues in the Middle East.

This was stated Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, ambassador of the Sultanate and permanent envoy to the UN in New York, during the opening session of the UN Security Council on the condition in the Middle East and mainly on the Palestinian cause.

Al Harthy said that the Sultanate has adopted peace and dialogue as a principle in its foreign policy and considers peaceful and political solutions as the best ways and means of resolving differences and disputes.

He said that the Sultanate has been keen for bringing together different views mainly in dealing with the issues/causes in the Arab region ( Yemen, Syria, Libya) and has encouraged all parties to refrain from disputes and disagreement and to adopt negotiations for resolving the issues of differences.
