OFW in coma after being badly beaten in Saudi

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has been lying in a coma after being badly beaten by still unidentified men.

OFW Aljun Andrade, 26, was rushed to the hospital after he was found unconscious while lying in his own blood on the street, reported GMA News.

The family of the OFW said they have no idea on the possible identity of the attacker as he is known to be friendly and kind to his peers.

His sister, Charisaa Fernandez, said her brother sustained blood clot in his head due to the attack but is expected to regain consciousness soon.

“Sabi nung doctor, yung kapatid mo magigising siya pero matatagalan lang kasi mayroon ngang blood clot yung ulo niya,” Fernandez said.

The family is crying for help to arrest the suspect.

“Nanawagan po ako sa DFA at embassy natin na sana naman po tulungan nyo yung kapatid ko doon. Sana mabigyan siya ng hustisya kung sino talaga yung gumawa sa kaniya yun,” she said.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh said it has already coordinated with the Saudi Police for investigation.

Officials from the Philippine Embassy have also visited the victim and promised to extend help to his family.
