Catering firm hauled up for violation

Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section has penalised a catering firm at Madinat Khalifa violating food health regulations.
The inspectors found unlabelled frozen fish and meat products, both unfit for consumption, together in a fridge. The kitchen also kept cooked food in unhygienic conditions. A violation report was issued and necessary legal procedures taken.
The section also spotted a restaurant in a hotel at Old Al Ghanim Area, thawing frozen food products at room temperature and re-freezing thawed products.

 

A restaurant in a hotel at Umm Ghuwailina Area was found to be storing expired food products and thawing frozen chicken in unhygienic conditions.  Both restaurants were issued violations of law no 8 for 1990 on the Regulation of Human Food Control.
The director of Doha Municipality Jamal Matar al-Nuaimi issued an administrative decision to close a restaurant at Najma Area in Doha for 30 days for serving food prepared in unhygienic conditions.
Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality Maintenance and Transport Section has supervised cleaning and maintenance operations of some parks at the municipality, in addition to the fish market.
The Beaches and Islands Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment has conducted a cleaning campaign at Al Safliya Island.
