Qatar’s Advisory Council Speaker to attend Arab Parliament’s extraordinary session

Ever since June 5, 2017, Qatar has been subjected to an illegal blockade by Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, making it impossible for Qataris to travel to these countries and vice versa.

However, over the last few weeks, officials from Qatar have been taking part in Arab events. Two weeks ago, a Qatari delegation consisting of members of the Advisory Council (Shura) took part in the second legislative session of the Arab Parliament.

And now, Shura council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud is leading another delegation to Cairo to participate in the in the 28th extraordinary session of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, reported The Peninsula.

During the meeting, which will take place today, lawmakers will discuss the latest developments in Gaza Strip, especially the bloody massacres carried out by the Israeli entity against the Palestinians.

They will also discuss the unilateral US decision recognising Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving the US embassy to it.
