Qatar will have the World Tourism Day festivities this Wednesday on September 27th. The current year's theme is 'Sustainable Tourism – a Tool for Development', celebrated with 2017 as the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
Official agreement was signed in April between Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) that marks Qatar to host the World Tourism celebrations.
The Day has been celebrated every year since 1980. The current year's theme will discover the role of tourism to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Peace and Dialog, Energy, Accessibility, World Heritage and Water and Tourism have been a portion of the subjects handled on the 37 past releases of World Tourism Day.
