An Indian driver has been sentenced to one year jail term and subsequent deportation by the Doha Criminal Court for stealing his employer’s Nojoom points, as reported by the Gulf Times.
The Nojoom points in question were worth more than QR10,000. The accused had a decade-long history of working for the employer, reason why the latter trusted him while sharing the account details.
The driver reportedly managed to transfer the points to his own account using the ID number of his employer, thereby using the points for his own benefit.
The defendant admitted his guilt when interrogated by the police, although he denied to confess in the court.
