As part of an anti-violation campaign, the Saudi authorities have deported some 1,700 foreign expatriates in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, whom have violated the Kingdom’s residency regulations.

Al-Riyadh local newspaper reported that the General Administration of Expatriates’ Affairs at the city’s prisons directorate has informed all the relevant government departments with the arrest.

According to the Director of Prisons in Riyadh, Brigade General Ali Al–Qout, the expatriates department has helped in receiving the violators, finalising their deportation paper work and transferring them to the airports.

Since the beginning of the so-called “A Nation without Violators” campaign, some 4236 illegal expatriates have been arrested, while about 1663 were deported.

On 29 March, the Saudi interior ministry launched an anti-violation campaign that aimed at giving the expatriates, whom violating the kingdom’s labour law and regulations, a chance to leave the Kingdom without having to pay penalties.
