Saudi Arabia Finalizes Arrangements to Serve Qatari Pilgrims

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has completed all the necessary arrangements to serve the Qatari pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj this year.

The Ministry has set a link to enable them to register their data and choose appropriate services for their needs, after Qatar's Ministry of Endowments showed no cooperation with the concerned authorities in Saudi Arabia to finalize arrangements and requirements of Qatari pilgrims.

According to the statement, Qatari citizens can perform Hajj and Umrah, after registering their data and choosing the services that suit their needs.

The Saudi leadership welcomes the arrival of all Muslim pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors from all over the world and will spare no effort to provide them with all services and facilities that enable them to perform their rituals easily, asserted the statement.

“Further to the statement of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on 16/10/1439 AH, on setting a direct link for the pilgrims of Qatar, and after no response and cooperation from Qatar's Ministry of Endowments with the concerned authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to finalize arrangements and requirements of Qatari pilgrims, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has completed all necessary arrangements for serving Qatari pilgrims wishing to perform Hajj rituals this year 1439H, whereas the Ministry has set the link (https://qh.haj.gov.sa), to enable them to register their data and choose appropriate services for their needs,” the ministry indicated.

Member of the Shura Council and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Zuhair al-Harthy told Asharq Al-Awsat that everyone is well aware that Saudi Arabia has principles that can’t be altered during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.

The Kingdom is working to provide all the means to facilitate this pilgrimage for all visitors regardless of their nationalities and their countries' positions, he added.

Harthy asserted that Saudi Arabia rejects any behavior that threatens the safety of the guests or harms them, adding that there are those who try to exploit this rite in an attempt to promote political slogans that have nothing to do with Islam.

“The Kingdom’s stance on Hajj and pilgrims as a rite that has nothing to do with politics is unwavering. The Kingdom doesn’t seek fame or compliments from anyone,” he confirmed.

“Saudi Arabia has a great religious responsibility and it strives to facilitate access to the people of Qatar to perform this ritual in all ways and means possible,” indicated Harthy.

He explained that what Doha is suggesting reveals its failure, and that is why it constantly tries to defame the Kingdom and stir public opinion through the subject of Hajj.

The Shura member slammed Qatar’s cheap method in trying to link the political position of the Kingdom with Hajj, which is contrary to the spirituality of the pilgrimage.

Saudi Arabia received Qatari pilgrims last year through the land crossing which was opened for cars and citizens, and flights were allowed from al-Ahsa Regional Airport and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.
