Nearly 427 tonnes of food or 8 million meals are wasted daily in Saudi Arabia which is of worth 70 million Saudi Riyals.
- As per the report of Food & Agriculture Organization of Rome, Saudi Arabian households throw 90 percent of left over food on daily basis.
- The daily wastage quantity of food of Saudi Arabia is enough to feed the whole population of Riyadh said Khairat Charity Society chairperson Noora bint Abdulaziz Al Ajami, Its became a social culture for wasting massive food.
- One association which is operating under the authority of Ministry of Labor and Social Development planned to save more than 2 million meals daily and benefit 300,000 needy people.
