People who are using the chat app on an iPhone running iOS 11 are being shown a message which advises people not to close it down by swiping up.
On every Apple mobile except the iPhone X, you close down apps by double-clicking the Home Button and then swiping up to close the windows you no longer wish to keep open using the "app switcher".
On the iPhone X, you have to perform a gesture which involves swiping halfway up the screen, before holding for a second on an app and then swiping to close.
But WhatsApp fans are being told to avoid doing this - even though there's no other way of closing the messaging app.
"Swiping to close WhatsApp can prevent you from receiving notifications," the message reads.
This could mean you're not alerted when you receive a WhatsApp message.
You can see a video of the notification in the tweet below, which was sent to a Twitter account operated by Apple's tech support team.

It's been suggested that the problem started when Apple launched iOS 11, the new operating system for iPhone and iPad which introduced a change to the way users view notifications - which are the messages which pop up whenever messages or alerts are received.
The website WABetaInfo, which specialises in covering WhatsApp, suggested the issue would be fixed in an upcoming update.
On Twitter, it claimed: "WhatsApp is testing a workaround to fix push notifications.
"This is an iOS 11 bug."
We have written to WhatsApp to ask an explanation of the problem and will update this article when it responds.
