The social media giant has unveiled a makeover to its Facebook Stories feature just days after launch following widespread apathy from its users.
Having launched just a week ago, Facebook Stories has now been given a whole new look on your News Feed - but some users may not be entirely happy with what they see.
Inspired by the company's Instagram site, Facebook Stories let users share their daily activity using pictures and short video clips.
Similar to offerings from Instagram and Snapchat, the stories stayed live for 24 hours, and could also be posted to your timeline and News Feed directly.
The new feature took pride of place on the Facebook Android and iOS app, appearing at the top of the user's News Feed.
However Facebook Stories failed to take off with users, leaving a rather embarassing hole at the top of many user's home screens.
This has now changed, however. Instead, Facebook now shows a line-up of your recently-contacted friends and relatives with their pictures greyed out.
The images appear whether your friends have used Facebook Stories or not in the past, creating a slighty odd gallery of ghostly-looking pictures.
Tapping on one of the grey images brings up the message that, "(contact) hasn’t posted to his / her story recently”.
The new look Stories is rolling out now, so keep an eye out for in when next updating your Facebook mobile app.
