Google introduced Android O, the latest version of the operating system, at the Google IO conference in on May 17. With over 2 billion devices, Android leads the global smartphone game with a market share of 83%. By launching Android O, Google is introducing many cosmetic and under the hood features as well as new projects aimed at emerging economies. " In the O release we've focused on creating fluid experiences that make Android even more powerful and easy to use", says Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, Android.
1.Smart text selection
In Android O, " we’re applying on-device machine learning to copy/paste, to let Android recognize entities like addresses, URLs, telephone numbers, and email addresses" says Burke. This makes the copy/paste experience better by selecting the entire entity and surfacing the right apps to carry out an action based on the type of entity.
