Samsung, world’s largest smartphone company, has announced that it will launch a foldable smartphone next year. The new entrant will come under Galaxy Note series.
Koh Dong-jin, President of mobile business at Samsung Electronics, broke the news at a press conference to Galaxy Note 8 smartphone. Analysts are anticipating foldable smartphone from Samasung since it made a flexible display prototype called Youm in 2013.
Koh added that there are several hurdles to overcome before releasing a smartphone with a bendable display without elaborating further. The announcement comes just before Apple’s tech conference which begins today where its new iPhones will be launched.
