Expat fined Dh150,000 for taking woman's photo without permission

European expat woman in Abu Dhabi was fined Dh150,000 for snapping a photo of another lady and posting it on social media, reported Khaleej times.

Expat woman had unexpectedly snapped a  picture of the woman while trying to bring issues to light of volunteering work in cleaning up beaches, as per Emarat Al Youm report.

After posting the photograph on the site of a autism centre, the spouse of the lady filed a claim for snapping the picture of his wife without her permission or her knowledge.

With all due respect, the lady's legal counselor said that she had gotten a few honors for her volunteering work and had no ill intentions in  snapping the picture.

He added that she is a home producer and does not have any salary to pay the huge fine. The persons who appear in the photograph were likewise wearing full clothing and along these lines don't hurt the public interest in any way.

Her legal counselor contended that seeing as a shoreline is an public area, security laws don't make a difference. The court suspended the consultation till December 11.
