His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah announced health insurance for Sharjah Police staff, Wam reported on Sunday.

In an Eid Al Adha message on Twitter, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, said that all members of the police force were thankful for the Ruler's generous decision of providing health insurance for everyone - on both sides local and federal - including Emiratis and expats.

Major Al Shamsi also conveyed his good wishes to Sheikh Dr Sultan on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

The decision makes Sharjah Police the first in the Ministry of Interior to get this benefit.

Hailing the decision, Al Shamsi said that this decision is the most precious gift from the Ruler to the nation's 'sons in the police'.
