Singaporeans can now travel to Qatar without a visa. Singapore tourists will get a visa waiver on their arrival in the country, valid for the next 30 days. These 30 days can be spent in one trip or even be split into multiple trips. The waiver can be extended for another 30 days.
Interior ministry official Mohamed Rashed al-Mazrouei has said that Singapore is now among the 80 countries that get a visa-free entry for the purpose of benefiting the air travel and tourism industry. Given the upcoming 2020 Football World Cup, this is certainly a good news for the 80 nations that are a part of the visa-exemption scheme.
According to tourism department official Hassan al-Ibrahim’s statement in a news conference in Doha this Wednesday, Qatar is the most open country in the region, courtesy the visa-exemption scheme.
Chan Brothers Travel stated that visa-free entry highly benefits the travelers, however, Qatar still remains a niche destination for travel.
