Basketball Teams Gear Up For 3x3 Asia Cup

Bahrain’s national 3x3 basketball teams are ready for action. Both the men and women will compete in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2026. Singapore hosts the major tournament from next Wednesday until April 5.

Women Aim For Main Draw Success

The women’s squad features Bayan Salman, Shereen Abdulrahman, Noor Najaf, and Nouf Abdulla. They must win Qualifying Draw C to advance. Their group includes Chinese Taipei, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong.

Player Bayan Salman shared her excitement with local media. “Our preparations have been going really well,” Salman stated. She noted that consistent training helped them build strong chemistry and improve fitness.

Coaches Bogdan Dragovic and Murtadha Kamali guide the women's team. Salman believes the group now possesses more experience and confidence. They want to represent Bahrain well and reach the main event.

Men Face Tough Qualification Phase

Meanwhile, the men’s preliminary roster includes five talented athletes. Alwatheq Ali, Nasser Al Mosawi, Isa Jassim, Mohammed Ghazwan, and Salman Al Kaabi form the squad. They face a challenging path in Qualifying Draw D.

The men will play against Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, and India. Only the winner of this specific group secures a spot in the tournament proper. Both Bahraini teams play all their crucial qualifying matches next Wednesday.
