Anthropic Introduces Local Rupee Pricing for Claude AI Subscriptions in the Indian Market

Indian technology professionals have a wonderful new reason to celebrate the expansion of artificial intelligence tools. Anthropic has officially rolled out rupee-denominated pricing for its highly popular Claude AI subscriptions. Users in India can now comfortably view and pay for the service in their local currency, eliminating the friction of US dollar conversions.

This localized pricing is incredibly significant, as India represents Claude's second-largest global market, accounting for nearly 6 percent of worldwide usage. The update removes frustrating foreign transaction fees and provides clear, predictable monthly costs for developers and businesses relying on the platform.

Tailoring to a Massive Digital Workforce

The Claude Pro plan is now priced reasonably at Rs 2,399 per month, offering users seamless access to advanced models like Sonnet, Opus, and Fable 5. The company also introduced competitive rupee pricing for its higher-tier Max plans and collaborative Team subscriptions.

While the service currently requires credit or debit card payments and lacks UPI support, the localized currency shift is a massive step forward. It reflects Anthropic’s deepening commitment to the Indian market and its massive, highly skilled developer base.
