A Historic First Visit To Lima
For one week in October, the city of Lima belonged entirely to Park Jimin. BTS played in Peru for the very first time in their legendary career. They performed three massive nights at Estadio San Marcos this week. This historic visit landed just days before Jimin's 31st birthday on October 13. Peruvian ARMY did the math quickly and threw him an unbelievable city-wide party. Fans organized a decorated metro train, massive billboards, and bright LED trucks. They even flew synchronized drones over the Pacific Ocean to celebrate the star. Tens of thousands of voices sang "Happy Birthday" loudly in two different languages.
The Train Of Love For Jimin
The headline act actually started before BTS sang a single note onstage. On Wednesday, the same day as the first concert, a special train rolled out. The Line 1 metro train arrived completely wrapped in images of Jimin. The fanbase JIMIN PERÚ 13 drove the project alongside the local transit authority. The wrap carries beautiful photos of Jimin and sweet birthday messages from fans. Chimmy, his popular BT21 character, rides along playfully inside the driver's cab. The train runs all 26 stations of Line 1 during normal daily service. Line 1 moves more than 200 million passengers every single year.
A Stadium Filled With Emotion
That equals a massive number of commuters getting an unexpected dose of K-pop. On Saturday, the stadium crowd went completely all in for the celebration. During the closing speeches, thousands of fans broke into "Feliz cumpleaños" as one voice. Visibly moved, Jimin thanked them with a heartfelt "Muchas gracias." He added a line the Peruvian press picked up instantly: "I will keep you in my heart." Fan clips captured Jungkook flashing a thumbs-up every time a banner appeared. Peru waited 13 long years for a BTS concert to finally happen. Explore the vibrant world of international music and massive global fan communities.
