Delhi: Accident Victim Lied Helplessly On Road For 12 Hours, Bystanders Stole From Him

Lack of empathy represented at it extreme best by Delhiites when a helpless man injured in an accident lied on the road for 12 hours and nobody came to his rescue, to top it all bystanders stole his things.

The man reportedly had a mobile phone and a bag of clothes stolen from him, and even mere Rs. 12 were stolen from the man’s pocket.

Fortunately, 35-year-old Narendra Kumar has survived the accident, with injuries to his neck, legs, and spine. He is undergoing treatment at the Safdarjung Hospital, and as per the police, he will survive.

Working as a driver in Bijnor UP, Kumar was returning home from Jaipur on Tuesday evening. He was reportedly hit by an unidentified car that was over-speeding while he was crossing a road near Kashmere Gate bus terminal. The accident took place around 5 pm.

People promptly crowded around him, but not because they wanted to help him, they, in fact, wanted to steal all his things. Finally, a passerby made a call to the police control room on Wednesday followed by which a PCR van picked him up from the spot and took him into medical care in Sushruta Trauma Centre before he was transferred to Safdarjung Hospital.

According to the police, neither the over-speeding car that caused the accident nor the suspected thieves who stole from an injured Narendra have been identified.
