Travelers in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region now have a highly convenient new option for international travel. Navi Mumbai International Airport has successfully launched its very first international service, offering direct flights to Abu Dhabi. Air India Express began operating this exciting new route with three scheduled flights per week.
This expansion marks an incredible milestone for India's newest greenfield airport, coming less than 200 days after it opened for domestic services. The new route provides passengers with a fantastic alternative to the busy Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, streamlining the travel experience for thousands of residents.
Connecting Major Commercial Hubs
The direct Abu Dhabi service beautifully strengthens the travel and economic links between one of India’s largest commercial centers and the UAE. Navi Mumbai airport has already successfully served over 2.3 million domestic passengers, proving its readiness to handle international traffic and time-sensitive cargo shipments.
Aviation authorities expect this to be just the first of many international routes. As operations continue to expand, additional airlines and global destinations will join the network, supporting increased tourism, trade, and economic growth across western India.
