Kim Jong-un sent out a stern message to Donald Trump in what is considered to be the first time the North Korean leader sent out a direct message. Kim said he will seriously consider using the most extreme hard-line measures seen in history in the wake of Trump’s comment. Trump, in a speech earlier at the UN General Assembly, threatened to totally destroy North Korea. Kim called Trump a mentally deranged dotard and said that he would tame Trump with fire.
Ri Yong Ho, North Korea’s foreign minister said that Pyongyang might test another nuclear weapon in what is considered to be an act of defiance against Trump before adding that it could be the most powerful hydrogen bomb ever tested.
Kim is said to be humiliated and very angry with Trump’s comments and said that Trump needs to very careful the next time he speaks on a public stage and he should know whom he’s talking to.
Trump still prefers to economically strangle North Korea over having to use military power to ensure North Korea doesn’t continue with its nuclear weapons tests. He signed a document which focuses towards throwing North Korea out of the international banking system and target their industries.
Trump has been making a series of statements strongly condemning North Korea for its nuclear development and also calling out its allies who support North Korea in trading and supplying arms to them. The document was signed in the wake of rumors that China’s central bank has told the other Chinese banks to refrain from new business opportunities with North Korea and has also asked the banks to recover old loans.
The tension between the two countries has never been higher than this and it looks like Trump and Kim will have to find a solution to the stand-off quickly or risk going to war.
