Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 Thunders Past Rs 4.2 Billion At Worldwide Box Office

Strong Sunday Surge Lifts Opening Weekend

Four days into its theatrical run, Superstar Rajinikanth's action sequel *Jailer 2* is dominating cinema turnstiles across the globe. Having opened in theaters on Thursday, October 15, the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed blockbuster recorded a massive Sunday haul of Rs 55.85 crore net in India. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, that Sunday surge pushed the film's four-day domestic net total to Rs 199.90 crore—just shy of the Rs 2 billion mark. Including taxes, the movie's domestic India gross already stands at an impressive Rs 234.25 crore. Meanwhile, international audiences have embraced the return of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian with equal enthusiasm. *Jailer 2* collected Rs 40 crore gross overseas on Sunday alone, lifting its international total to Rs 190 crore and its four-day worldwide gross to Rs 424.25 crore (Rs 4.24 billion).

Day-By-Day Momentum Across Four Languages

The film's box-office trajectory over the four-day frame highlights strong positive word of mouth among family audiences. After launching with Rs 59.70 crore net on Thursday, collections experienced a normal weekday dip to Rs 37.10 crore on Friday. However, business rebounded sharply by 27 percent on Saturday to reach Rs 47.25 crore before jumping another 18.2 percent on Sunday. Playing across 15,473 screenings nationwide on Sunday, the original Tamil version accounted for the lion's share of domestic revenue. Tamil screenings generated Rs 39.95 crore across 8,173 shows, while the Telugu-dubbed version contributed Rs 9.50 crore from 2,234 shows. The Kannada version added Rs 0.65 crore across 164 screenings.

Steady Growth In The Hindi Market

Trade analysts are also keeping a close eye on the steady upward climb of the film's Hindi-dubbed version. Despite facing competition from holdover release *Drishyam 3* and a limited multiplex footprint, the Hindi version earned Rs 5.75 crore across 4,902 shows on Sunday. That Sunday figure represents a healthy 27.8 percent jump over Saturday's Rs 4.50 crore Hindi collection. Across its first four days, the Hindi edition has accumulated Rs 16.65 crore net, adding valuable momentum as *Jailer 2* enters its first full workweek.
