Sudarsan Pattnaik an Indian sand artist from Odisha who is also a Padma Shri awardee has always enthralled everybody with his breathtaking sand art creations. The artist who has achieved worldwide acclaim for his sand sculptures is in Bahrain for a workshop for teachers. Today on the occasion of International Women’s Day he paid tribute to womanhood by creating a beautiful sand sculpture that depicts a woman’s face. Sudarsan Pattnaik has been sculpting images on sand since he was seven years old and has designed hundreds of sand art. He established ‘The Golden Sand Art Institute’ a first of its kind in India. Sudarsan Pattnaik who created this sand sculpture in Bahrain said that it was a unique experience creating sand art with women teachers during his workshop. He was also amazed with the enthusiasm that the women teachers exhibited at the workshop. He tweeted, “Happy #InternationalWomensDay , it was a unique experience creating SandArt with women teachers during my workshop at #Bahrain beach.” He also appreciated the teachers who took part in his workshop by tweeting, “I am amazed with the interest and enthusiasm of participants in my workshop at #Bahrain. #InternationalWomensDay”. He also shared a picture of his old sand art which appealed “Respect Women” today on the proud occasion of International Women’s Day. Sudarsan Pattnaik has won several international sand art competitions and brought accolades to India. He recently created a new record for the Guinness Book for creating the world’s tallest sand castle.
