Public Beaches:

Bahrain has quite a few public beaches. Although Bahrain is very liberal, on the public beaches you are advised to dress appropriately. For men that means long swimming shorts, speedo’s are discouraged. For women that means covering shoulders and knees. Bahrain Al Beach

Nearby cities are Hamad Town, Durrat Al Bahrain, Manama

The beach gets really busy on Fridays and is very popular with families and it is child friendly. The beach can get quite dirty due to people leaving their rubbish. The beach is located near the F1 circuit.

Bahrain Amwaj Beach

Not strictly a public beach but the reclaimed islands certainly seem to attract lots of people at the weekends. There are various areas where it’s possible to reach the sea to swim or just sit on the shore and watch the kite surfers.

it's very popular with Jet Ski lovers so can get quite noisy sometimes.

Bahrain Arad Fort Beach

Located in the area Arad. Opened to mark National Day in 2008, this small stretch of beach to the side of the old fort is a great place for a picknic and a swim but it’s more of a beach park, with a paved area for walking and games, rather than an actual swimming beach. Great to have a walk at sunset and offers great spots for barbeques with your family.

Bahrain Hidd Beach

Bahrain Hidd Beach is another one that is more popular for picnicking than swimming, this small area of sand opposite Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park attracts barbecue fans and offers great views of Juffair and Manama at sunset.

Bahrain Jazair Beach

One of the island's few truly public beaches, located at the end of Gulf of Bahrain Avenue not far from Zallaq area

Once you reach the sailing club, turn left and you’ll find yourself at the beach. There is more than a kilometer of sandy beach.

There is lots of shade and some equipment for kids.

This beach is often visited by Bahraini locals.

Bahrain Karbabad Beach

Head for Bahrain Fort, past the Bapco petrol station at Seef.Karbabad is a great place for an evening walk or a picknic, there are many locals around.

Private Beaches:

Bahrain Al Dar Beach

Probably one of the best beach spots even though it’s not strictly part of Bahrain,

20 minutes drive from Manama city to Sitra Fisherman’s Port and 10 minutes by Sea Taxi. Call to book and check if the beach is open, sometimes they close, depending on the weather conditions. There is the possibility of booking a chalet to spend the night there. No outside food or drink is allowed. On Saturdays there is a special secluded area set aside for ladies who prefer a bit of extra privacy.

Bahrain Sailing Club Beach

Located on Zallaq Beach, next to Al Jazaira Beach. The Bahrain Sailing Club has its own private beach, open to members and non-members, couples, families but groups of men are not allowed. For a non-member you pay BD3 for the day. They also offer chalets for rent, BD40 for a family of four.

Bahrain Yacht Club Beach

Located in Sitra, the Bahrain Yacht Club has one of the nicest beaches on the island, smallish but clean and with a good restaurant in the club house. It's members only but you can buy a day pass for BD2. They have training facilities and services to meet your requirements.

BAHRAIN CORAL BAY BEACH

This beach is located near the area Hoora. This club/restaurant/spa has a small beach that gets crowded at weekends. Popular with the younger Expat crowd, enjoy a drink or two on your sun bed! There are also a few pools and you can rent Jet Ski's, banana boats and kayaks. Cost: 5BD weekdays, 8BD weekends and public holidays.

Bahrain Jarada Island Beach

Jarada Island is one of the best attractions in Bahrain, golden sands and blue clear water, very clean sand and the best place to swim, the island appears in the ebb and disappears in the tide (ebb and flow).You can reach Jarada by speed boat and if you don’t own one, there are regular trips from Coral Bay or you can arrange one through Jarada Tours.
