6 Celebrities Who Became Overnight Stars But Couldn’t Deal With The Pressure Of Fame

The thing that we all are doing wrong with our lives is that we are only aspiring to get rich and popular. But what happens once we achieve that? Just imagine that you have all the money in the world and people know you by your appearance and name. Now, what’s the purpose of your life? At this time, it’s too late to understand what is the most important to you in life, isn’t it?

There are a lot of celebrities who shot to fame overnight and became sensations. People loved them for their talent, but they soon faded into oblivion. Apparently, they couldn’t handle the popularity. The fame crushed them.

1. Yo Yo Honey Singh

A few songs on YouTube and Honey Singh AKA Yo Yo became an overnight star. From his singles to songs in Bollywood, he was a rage among people from all age groups. Even kids danced and hummed the tunes of his songs. He ruled the industry but soon vanished into thin air.

He was judging a reality music show, which he suddenly quit and hasn’t made a public appearance since then.

What happened to Honey Singh? From speculations being rife that he is in a rehab to get rid of his alcohol addiction to rumours doing the rounds that he has bipolar disorder, there were crazy rumours everywhere. Some even said that Shah Rukh Khan had slapped him when he was under the influence of alcohol.

“This is the first time I am talking about it as I want my fans to know what happened to me. Nobody knows about this, and I wanted to tell the world myself, not through a spokesperson. The last 18 months were the darkest phase of my life, and I wasn't in a state to talk to anyone. I know there were rumours that I was in rehab (for drug overdose), but I was in my Noida house throughout. The truth is I was suffering from bipolar disorder. It went on for 18 months, during which I changed four doctors, the medication wasn't working on me and crazy things were happening, I must confess that I was bipolar and an alcoholic, which aggravated the condition,” he revealed in an interview later.

He made a comeback with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety's Dil Chori this year, but he hasn’t made a public appearance yet.

2. Tim Bergling AKA Avicii

The mysterious, sudden and untimely death of Avicii has left everyone startled and mourning. The cause of the death hasn’t been revealed as of yet, but we know that he was struggling with his mind and body. He was struggling with health and fame.

He was one of the most successful artists in 2014 with about 10 million albums sold. His songs were topping the charts everywhere, and he did over 300 gigs a year.

But looks like the constant pressure to deliver took a toll on his body and mind. In Sep. 2014, he took some time out from his busy schedule and took a break from career.

“I used to party a lot. Everyone does in the beginning when they're getting accustomed to this world. Every night is a party. But I just realized that for me personally, my body or my mind couldn't handle that amount of—like I wasn't feeling good doing that to myself,” Avicii told Time Magazine in 2013.

Eights months after he came back with a song titled Feeling Good. At the beginning of the song, he says, "So what happens to a person who skyrockets into fame... but do you ever get a chance to be just Tim. I don't think I have had the time to just sit back and think what has happened. It isn't real."

He had got his gallbladder and appendix removed at that time. In the next two years, he was hospitalised twice for acute pancreatitis. He was indeed struggling with his health.
