11. Anton Yelchin

Without taking anything away from the others on this list, Anton Yelchin‘s shocking death might have been saddest news on this list, if only because he was only 27 years old. Seemingly on the verge of becoming one of Hollywood’s premier actors, if he wasn’t already one, Yelchin was involved in a fatal freak vehicle accident in his own driveway on June 19, 2016. The news shocked the world who was introduced to a young and talented Yelchin back in 2001 with his groundbreaking work as a child actor in Hearts in Atlantis and Along Came a Spider. Then in 2006 and 2007, we got Yelchin as a young teen in Alpha Dog and Charlie Bartlett respectively, films that showed us that Yelchin can drive a film all on his own. His subsequent work in the Star Trek franchise as Pavel Chekov and many other films brought us more of the same. In one of his last films, Yelchin starred in one of if not the best horror films of 2016 with Green Room, teasing us with a talent that we would lose shortly after the film’s release.
