SACHIN TENDULKAR (1990-2012)

At number 3 on the all-time list is the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin had played a total of 21 Asia Cup innings and scored 971 runs at an average of 51. Sachin's highest Asia Cup score was 114. The master blaster scored two Asia Cup centuries and seven fifties. Sachin was part of the Asia Cup winning teams of 1990-91 and 1995. He was rested for the 2010 edition.

 

VIRAT KOHLI (2010-2016)

It's not surprising that Virat Kohli is already on this list, despite the fact that he has played only 14 Asia Cup innings so far. Between 2010 and 2016, the current Indian captain has scored 766 runs at an average of 64 in the tournament. Virat's average in fact is the best in the top 5. He also has a strike-rate of 99.6. Virat has scored 3 Asia Cup centuries and 2 fifties so far. He will miss this edition of the Asia Cup, since he has been rested.

ARJUNA RANATUNGA (1984-1997)

Former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga is at number 5 on this list. He has scored a total of 741 runs in 19 Asia Cup innings. Ranatunga has an Asia Cup average of 57 and a highest score of 131*. He was part of the Asia Cup winning Sri Lankan teams of 1986 & 1997. He scored half-centuries in the finals of both editions. Ranatunga scored one Asia Cup century and 6 fifties overall.
