A MALE TEENAGE has been arrested in connection to five acid attacks carried out in the space of 80 minutes across London last night.

All five attacks were carried out in just over an hour between 10.25pm and 11.40pm last night.

The first attack happened on Hackney Road junction with Queensbridge road, when two men on a moped drove up alongside the 32-year-old man, also on a moped, and threw acid in his face.

One attacker then stole the victim's moped and drove off, as the other attacker escaped from the scene on the scooter they arrived on.

Following the incidents in Hackney, police were called at 10.49pm after a man had corrosive substance thrown at him by two males on a moped on the Upper Street junction with Highbury Corner, north London.

Then at 11.05pm on Thursday, two males driving on a moped threw acid in another person’s face on Shoreditch High Street.

Another attack occurred 13 minutes later on Cazenove Road, Stoke Newington, where corrosive substance was sprayed onto another victim’s face. His victims are said to be life-changing.
Then police were called to another instance at 11.37pm on Chatsworth Road, Stoke Newington, where two males on a moped pulled up and sprayed liquid in his face, stealing his moped.

A teenage male has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery.

Police have urged any witnesses to come forward to contact them on 101 or tweet @MetCC. To remain anonymous you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

No arrests have been made but police in Hackney are trying to find the suspects.

It comes after a spate of recent acid attacks in the city.

Last month, aspiring model Resham Khan and her cousin Jameel Muhktar suffered life changing injuries when a man sprayed acid while they were sat in their cars.
