1. If you are in the open sea

Imagine that you are on a boat in the open sea. How are you supposed to live? Three things that will help you to survive in the middle of the sea are food, water, and temperature.

  • There is food in the sea, you just need to get it. In 1942, an English seaman spent 133 days in the sea because he made a rod using flashlight wires. If you have some materials, do the same. If there is nothing you can use, make a net using a piece of cloth. Put it in the water and try to catch seaweed and plankton.
  • To get freshwater, make a distillation machine. It consists of two tanks (the small one and the big one) and a piece of a plastic bag. The seawater from the big tank will evaporate, the plastic will keep it, and the water will condensate in the small tank.
  • Heat stroke can kill much faster than hunger. Besides, the sunshine reflects from the water surface and damages your retina. Take some of your clothes off and cover your head and your eyes.
