Rockstar Games Built A System That Tracks Your Chaos
Grand Theft Auto games have always let players behave terribly. However, GTA 6 will quietly judge your actions behind the scenes. Preview details reveal a new criminal profile system that tracks exactly how violent you become. YouTuber TGG recently shared details from a closed-doors preview of the game. Rockstar Games has not officially published the mechanics, but the preview provided fascinating insights.
Four Tiers Of Criminal Behavior
The criminal profile operates similarly to the honor meter in Red Dead Redemption. It sorts player behavior into four distinct categories. The top tier is "Professional," representing the most honorable approach. The scale drops down to "Aggressive" and then "Violent." The absolute bottom tier is labeled simply as "Psycho." The system does not just count how many people you shoot. It actually weighs whether your violence was justified in the moment. Shooting an armed robber will not hurt your score. However, executing an innocent clerk pushes you closer to the Psycho tier.
Breaking The Morality Meter
If you push past the Psycho tier, the meter actually cracks and shatters. Once the meter shatters, the game completely stops measuring your behavior. Rockstar developers indicated that reaching this broken state is genuinely difficult. The game grades the two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, completely separately. You can play one character professionally while turning the other into an absolute disaster. Players can also turn off the profile notifications entirely. You can play the game chaotically without the system ever bothering you. The game arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X next November.
