Doha Municipality officials take action against food law violators

A butchery in the Madinat Khalifa South was found to be storing food in unhygienic conditions by the Health Monitoring Section of Doha Municipality contrary to the regulations put it place by the Law Number 8 of 1990. Inspectors from the municipality also found a grinding mill in the old airport area was storing food in unhygienic conditions. 

Demonstrating full commitment to providing only hygienic food in the markets of the country the Al Khor and Al Dakhira Municipality conducted as many as 240 inspections last year, 100 of which were conducted on food outlets and 60 were undertaken on labour accommodations, whereas the rest were undertaken to ensure compliance with the advertisements policies that have been put in place by the State.  

The municipality also responded to 18,168 requests for sanitation, 3,097 requests for pest control against insects and rodents, in addition to 111 requests for cutting trees.

Similarly, the Doha Municipality also responded to 18,614 requests last year comprising of 17,648 requests for pest control against insects of various kinds at homes, the remaining 966 requests were for action against rodents. 

 

The municipality, also handles service requests from buildings and offices and received 54 such requests from schools and 78 administrative buildings belonging to ministries and government authorities.

1344 pest control services were also undertaken at the camps and administrative buildings of the army, police and civil defence. 

Additionally, stores in the Industrial Area and Al Wukair are also monitored by Doha municipality officials for the maintenance of optimum levels of ration.
