Soon, grace period for illegal residents in UAE

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship is preparing to launch the "Protect Yourself by Modifying Your Status" initiative, implementing the Cabinet's decision and allow for a grace period for illegal residents to rectify their status.

Ali Mohammed bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, praised the decision of the Council of Ministers to adopt a new legislative package to review the current residence system.

Those who have such a status won't face legal consequences, will be exempt from violation fines.

This helps the UAE maintain its economic competitiveness, strengthening its position as one of the best countries in the world by providing decent opportunities for those looking for social and economic stability.
