Brad Pitt’s confessions in a GQ Style interview published last week – including his decades-long “boozing problem” and calling his split from Angelina Jolie “self-inflicted” – shocked fans around the world.But in shock new claims published by New Idea magazine, the heartfelt interview was actually orchestrated by Ange herself!

“There’s no doubt this was part of their divorce deal,” an insider told the publication. “Everyone’s convinced it was one of her conditions for him to see the kids.”

The GQ Style chat saw Brad, 53, opening up about his drinking problem, saying: “I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something.

“I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.”

The source tells New Idea that the 41-year-old actress was livid when both Hollywood and the public seemed to side with her ex after their split, so is “trying to destroy his reputation”.“Angie will never get over the fact everyone turned on her,” the insider added. “She knew he was going to be doing press and she insisted via their judge that he take the blame and own up to his mistakes.”

The bizarre confessional saw Brad do just that. “I am those things I don't like. That is a part of me…I am those mistakes,” he said in the tell-all.

“I hit the lottery, and I still would waste my time on those hollow pursuits.”

The latest claims from New Idea follow reports that Brad has been reunited with eldest sons Maddox, 15 and Pax, 13, after a period of distance.

A source told In Touch that in early April, “Maddox and Pax had an overnight visit with their father…along with their younger siblings.”

The publication claims that the breakthrough occurred after “months of therapy [and] a lengthy child services investigation” into the shock altercation that allegedly took place between Brad and Maddox on a private plane, leading to Angelina filing for divorce in September last year.
