Create A ‘Happy Folder’ At Work To Achieve High Productivity On A Gloomy Day

When was the last time you got a 'thank you' or 'appreciation' email from your boss? Well, you wouldn't remember and would go searching for it among thousand other mails. From now on, save such mails to a "happy folder".

And, whenever you are having a stressful day at work, just open the happy folder and read out those mails. It will help you instantly feel happy.

It is quite natural to have some lazy or depressed days. Instead of wasting your energy and time over it, you can try this trick. Appreciation and gratitude is what keeps you going. Mark Twain once said he could live for two months on a good compliment. Well, human beings in general love and live for compliments. However, as much as you yearn for appreciation, you also forget it way too easily. That is the reason small things take you to a 'gloomy zone'. So, next time you feel like you are having a bad day or that you are not blessed in life, just open this 'Happy Folder'.

Even if somebody hasn't mailed you, but given you an oral appreciation, immediately mail yourself whatever the person said. And on days you feel low on confidence, go for it. Sam Walton, founder of Wal-Mart, said "Nothing else can quite substitute for a few well-chosen, well-timed, sincere words of praise. They are absolutely free and worth a fortune."

While kids find joy in everything they do, for adults happiness is how much you work towards achieving it. Simple little tricks can go a long way in doing so. One such tip to instantly feel happy when you are having a taxing day at work is to look at your "happy folder".
Remembering happy things will help you have a productive day as well. It will give a positive kick start to the day. Remembering pleasurable things such as the day someone complimented your looks or the day your boss trusted you with some difficult work will give you a boost of oxytocin, the happy hormones . In fact, the most happy and successful people are the ones who understand and acknowledge life's gifts.
